KNOWN EMAIL SCAMS and Other Scams

 

The following is a list of related and/or business that have reported email scams.  We will also include a list of other scams that we have been made aware of that our members should be know about.  We will update this list as necessary.  The information contained on this page is for reference only.  Each person using the internet should use caution and their own judgment when engaging in internet activity where personal information is required.

Email Scams - These companies have had fake emails sent using their names and logosOther Scams
  
NCUA - National Credit Union AdministrationPay Pal - Email from Pay Pal will contain your name - scams will say "Dear Pay Pal Member:"
CSCU - Card Services for Credit UnionsLinks in an Email may direct you to a "copy-cat" site to collect information - login by going to the URL and not by using the link in an email.
Cuna Mutual Insurance CompanyCounterfeit Checks claiming to be payment for the winnings of a foreign lottery.
Credit Union National Association (sample)Entering your PIN number into an ATM backwards will trigger an alert to send the police to the location of the ATM - NOT TRUE
 Copy-Cat sites for charitable donations to help disaster victims.  Call or make donations in person, or call and verify the correct URL.  Donations can also be made via our bill payment site.
 Email from (ATM CARD PAYMENT CENTRE [notification@atm.com]) asking for (Name, Address, Age, Occupation and Phone.  Email has card number in it - NO REPUTABLE COMPANY WOULD ASK FOR THIS INFORMATION OR SEND AN ACTUAL ACCOUNT NUMBER IN AN EMAIL.
